House Calls – When Getting to the Clinic Isn’t Easy
For some people, the hardest part of hearing care isn’t the appointment – it’s getting there.
Mobility challenges. Weather. Transportation. Or a partner who is hesitant to come in.
Sometimes, it’s simply not practical.
It Often Becomes a Shared Effort
This is rarely something one person handles alone.
A spouse trying to help.
An adult child coordinating care.
Someone feeling frustrated, while the other isn’t sure what to do next.
It can start to feel like one more problem without a clear path forward.
Hearing Care, Brought to You
In certain situations, we can provide hearing care in your home.
We are able to perform many of the same hearing tests and diagnostic steps we would normally complete in the clinic, as long as there is a reasonably quiet room available.
When waiting weeks isn’t realistic, we work to provide help as quickly as possible.
This allows us to understand what’s happening with your hearing and guide next steps in a comfortable, familiar environment.
Calm, Guided, and On Your Terms
There is no pressure to make decisions.
The goal is simply to understand what’s going on and talk through what may help.
You’ll have time to ask questions, involve family members, and move at your own pace.
You do not have to come alone – and in this case, you don’t have to come at all.
We’ve been serving Winnipeg since 1997, and care doesn’t stop at the clinic door.
A Small Fee for In-Home Visits
Because a house call involves travel time and scheduling outside the clinic, there is a $100 fee for this service.
We’ll always let you know in advance and answer any questions before booking.
In many cases, families find the convenience and comfort of being seen at home makes this a helpful option when coming into the clinic is difficult.
When a House Call May Be the Right Option
House calls are typically most helpful when coming into the clinic is difficult or not practical.
This may include situations like:
- Mobility challenges or difficulty leaving home
- Recent health changes or recovery
- Transportation limitations
- Supporting a spouse or parent who is reluctant to attend in-clinic
- Care home or assisted living environments
In these cases, seeing you at home can make the process easier and more comfortable.
And When Coming In May Be Better
In some cases, visiting the clinic allows for a more complete range of testing and adjustments.
Our space is designed to make that as easy and comfortable as possible.
We have a wheelchair-accessible sound booth for stress free hearing tests, and the clinic itself is fully accessible throughout.
Parking is free and easy, with no major obstacles to navigate.
