Austin's message has resulted in fitting over 1.8 million hearing aids worldwide. The work of the foundation has not only enriched the lives of the hearing aids recipients, but also the families of each man, women, and child that can now hear the words spoken to them by their loved ones.
According to the World Health Organization 360 million people, of which some 32 million are children, have disabling levels of hearing loss that prevent them from hearing the world around them. Sadly, one half of all cases of hearing loss cases are avoidable through primary prevention.
