4 Reasons to Treat Hearing Loss

When it comes to getting treatment for hearing loss, it’s not uncommon for people to wait several years before acting. The stat we read was that it can take on average seven years before people seek treatment for hearing loss. So we thought we put together our top 4 reasons to get a hearing evaluation done.

1. Regret: all too often people tell us that they regret waiting so long to get help with your hearing loss. The main reason cited is missing out on conversations when talking with loved ones and friends.
2. Mistakes at work: It’s embarrassing trying explain your boss that you ordered 50 laptops and not the 15 he asked for!
3. Use it or lose it: The greater the hearing loss the larger the risk for dementia. Although the brain becomes smaller with age, the shrinkage seems to be fast-tracked in older adults with hearing loss, according to the results of a study by researchers from Johns Hopkins and the National Institute on Aging.
4. Uncover hidden health issues: Hearing loss may be a signal that other conditions including cardiovascular disease and diabetes are affecting your health.

To hear what you have been missing, book a hearing test by call the Polo Park Hearing Centre’s staff at (204) 788-1083 or use the form on this page.
